I don't think you can compare the two. A dog either reacts to a stimuli or it
does not. It either hides behind it's handler or goes to the end of the lead
and defends or is neutral ( just stands there).
A dog will either recover from the sound of gun fire or it will not.
It will either be approachable by a friendly stranger or it will not.
It will walk on a different surface or it will not.
It will either recover form the umbrella popping open in it's face or it will
not.
It will check out a strange sound or it will not.
It will defend,hide, or do nothing, in response to the weird strange, who we
have come to love as Paul. :0)
If a person can't read a dogs reaction then they should not be an evaluator.
It is much different than the subjective way dogs are judged in conformation.
All temperament tests are video so if there is a protest the video is there to
check the response of the dog.
8 tester are not enough to provide the service to the entire region. I am sure
there are people within the breed that could be trained to do this.
What is more surprising is that not one of us knows the entire list of 8, or
how these original 8 came to be.

Sounds like very sound logic except for the fact that it involves people.
Using that train of logic, if all the judges are judging according to the
same standard, they all would put up the same dogs and people wouldn't have
to research their preferences and there would be no talk about if its an All
Breed dog or a Specialty dog. That obviously isn't happening. And its not
just that all the judges are good and simply putting the best dogs in a
slightly different order. According to some of the posts, some of them are
just plain BAD. Eight sounds like a low number, probably a few more could
be trained. Obviously those eight are going to age and will need
replacements.
