The breeders in the WGSDCA & WGSDCI would show as a serious fault. And, that
is our right, if we so choose.
I do not see what the issue is. If WE (whites) are okay with the serious
fault, how does that make everyone else feel it is a bad thing for us?

Fact: Some part of the white GSD people have been petitioning the Board for
years to remove white (but not albino) as a disqualification.
Fact: The Board cannot change the Breed Standard. The process to change the
Breed Standard (put out by Lana over the weekend) is in the Club�s Bylaws
(available on GSDCA.org/) which involves a lot of petitioning of the AKC and a
ballot to the membership. In order to approve the Standard change 2/3rd of the
people returning the ballot have to vote �yes�.
Fact: The Board voted to let the membership decide because there does not seem
to be a consensus among the members.

I do know there clubs working with the Swiss White Shepherd "Blanc Berger
Suisse" for a separate breed as UKC made them one and FCI did as Germany
approved.
I think they felt since the GSDCA in the past followed Germany on the whites it
would happen again. I know the white GSD and White Shepherd clubs are divided
and since I do not own, breed or plan to I do not know what the right decision
is. However, I will say when the UKC made the choice to only allow white dog
to
white dog breeding to be registered as a White Shepherd dog I do see a downside
to it. A white GSD can still be bred to a white GSD but now only can be
registered as
a GSD and can show as such.
I agree with if they are made a serious fault instead of DQ do not see this as
a
plus either. In the end regardless it will be up to the GSDCA voters to
decide.
So, I guess all members that care one way or another need to cast that vote and
not complain when the votes are counted and accept the decision.
