When you are looking for the true quarter horse stick to the foundation bred
stock.... That is one
registry that is a stickler and they have to be foundation bred. In my
opinion that is where you
will find the best bull-dog quarter still around, that goes back to the old
lines, not the running
quarter (racing quarter as some call it) of today.
When I worked brand inspection and the stock yards I watched someone that
had a running quarter
get pushed all through the chutes by the stock, bring in a bull-dog quarter
and you will not
see that happen. Yes, bull-dog quarters are big and stocky, but they can
turn and spin on a
dime. They are the true working horse and I would not have anything else.

They have changed the Quarter Horse a lot, they have incorportated a lot of
thoroughbred into them so that they will be better show horses for pleasure
showing and dressage. I prefer the good old Bull dog Quarter horse myself.
Kind of like the good old Rin tin tin dog!

I love a nice stocky Quarter Horse. They have changed them a lot. Making
them taller with those long legs. I bet you those tall ones cant do reining
