Peter: Here in New Haven, there is a raging battle between Pepe's and Sally's
as to which came first and which is the best.

The battle is more intense than red vs. blue state, Yankees vs. Red Sox,
Lieberman vs. Lamont. You name it.

I hope you realize that the good friar, KF, has risked a lot by not only taking
a photo of Pepe's, but by putting it on the web as well for all to see. Through
doing this, he has cast his lot with Pepe's. He could lose parishoners over
this, and it may lead to a deep schism in his church not seen since the great
debate over whether bishops should have long or short beards.

I might point out as well, that the good friar has some nerve to put not just
one but several photos taken with a Hassy on a Rollei list. Er ist doch so
unverschaemt!!!!!!!!!! Those who prefer Sally's to Pepe's would understand
that people who make such a lapse in taste would be found at Pepe's.

That said, I must confess I enjoyed seeing his photos and wish I could have
attended. I hear the clam pizza was superb.

Next time, we New Haven luggers will have to meet at Sally's or Moderne for
white pizza with native tomatos, garlic, basil and olive oil.

And for the sake of balanced reporting, we'll put a photo--taken with a
Rollei--on the web for all to see.

Doug
