Never mind, I see you can do that from the freelist.org site. A forum would
be better, though.

A forum would also allow newbies (like me) to see older posts.

Richard,

There are several hundred emails on the list with many old/new/duplicate
email addresses.

From time to time I check and have set a number of people I know to be
'real' so that they cannot go into vacation mode.

It's not practical to check everyone.

All the ROC lists use the same service and it is a fairly widely used
service.

I personally would recommend to move to a forum with email notifications but
people seem to like the email list.

Regards

Ian

Greg:

Would it be possible for the freelists administrator to determine the
accounts in vacation mode and send messages to them? Does ROCannounce go
through the same channel?

A quick message to both newcomers and long-time subscribers to roc-chat:

For the most part, our experience with roc-chat hosted on freelists.org has
been good. But there is one unfortunate "feature" of which you should be
aware. For reasons that are not entirely clear (it may be triggered by a
bounced message), freelists will sometimes take your account and put it into
vacation mode, in which delivery of messages is suspended. It is
unfortunate not only that it does this, but it does it without warning or
notification. So if you have not received roc-chat postings in a while, you
should check your account profile to see if it has been put into vacation
mode.

Obviously this message will not directly help anyone who is already
suspended, but please spread the word to anyone you know who might be
affected. Thanks.

                        - Greg

Is this thing working? Haven't seen a message for weeks.
