Good point! Also, you can bypass the onboard switch altogether by providing power to the unit through a different pin. See page 37 of the manual, Figure 3.2b. Basically, you provide + to the "V+" pin (3rd from the left if you're looking at the back of the unit with the pin end up, or on top) and - to the "G" pin (5th from the left if you're looking at the back of the unit with the pin end up, or on top). The board should be labeled. The "+9" pin is the one that uses the onboard switch, Figure 3.2a.
