kim,
1. Have any of you been unhappy with your IPhone 4S. If so, why?
in the beginning wanted to throw the thing out the window. not so much
now. when it works, its great. was having all kinds of trouble in the
beginning and had to take to apple store for reinstall of IOS. Even
reg said it wasnt all me. lolol
2. Do any of you have regrets about switching to IPhone 4S from a
standard cell phone with buttons?
nope. touch screen i find super easy. i rarely use the dictate
function as its more time consuming to correct/edit poorly recognized
text than to start manual from scratch. depends on how long/complex my
text or email needs to be whether i use dictate function or type
manually.
3. If you're an IPhone 4S power user, do you keep your IPhone on most
of the time (my cell phone is hardly ever powered off).
i never power mine off. i keep it on charger during the day while i am
working at my desk..mostly because i dont have outlet close enough to
my bed and i use my phone for alarm.
5. Which is best--purchasing the IPhone 4S from Apple and having Apple
connect you up through AT&T or purchasing the phone from the AT&T
store?
that i cant definitively say. i bought mine from verizon store and the
rep had been trained on how to turn on VO. i was pleased with my
experience. VO is easy enough to turn on with even a sighted numskull
so i wouldnt let that deter you from going to AT&T if that is what you
are comfortable with.
7. Have any of you had problems with Voice Over not working correctly
or shutting off unexpectedly with IPhone 4S?
in the first couple of week VO crash regularly. i had the IOS
reinstalled and seems to be okay now. sometimes i do experience a big
delay where it seems as though VO isn't responding, then it will blip
through stuff super quick and catch up to itself.

the things i still have issues with are volume going up and down on
its own and the problem reg mentioned about call goign dead for a few
seconds.
i really cant say i like siri. i use it to set timer and alarms but
find it quicker to do most everything myself. you can set up calendar
or reminder and other things with siri but it will only go so far
before you have to finish setting it manually anyway so i just create
it on my own. plus, teh server is sometimes so slow.

i think the money reader alone is worth having the phone. lolol
i downloaded iriadne gps but havent figured out how to use it yet.
