Hi,I have been curious about this myself. I presently use a Kodak OC filter on my Kodak safelights. Does using a red light mean using an OA filter? Or do they literally mean a red safe light bulb?
There are red safelight bulbs made by some company.... Cheers, Bogdan Eric Nelson wrote:
If it asks specifically for a red safelight, then it'sa pretty safe bet that's what you'll need.Forte Polywarmtone Elegance was one that needed a red safelight and it was specified by Forte (at the time), but I'm unfamiliar with the Fotokemika Varycon you speak of. You can always do a safelight test once you get the paper, but I'd have a red filter at the ready in caseit's needed. They're useful for orthochromatic graphic arts films a well. =) Eric --- ERoustom <eroustom@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Here's an ignorant beginner question: If my safe light has been working with older gradedAgfa papers, and all sorts of VC papers, will it work with papers like Fotokemika Varycon that specifically ask for a RED light?Even though to my eyes it's a an orange light? Do Ireally need to spend the money on a red light? Or are thereeconomical options?
