DEAR MICHAEL,
Over a decade ago I was still shooting some portraits with film though I
was in the processing of moving any commercial work to digital. I always hired
young local photographers to assist me and they were thrilled to see someone
with 40 years (at the time) of experience working.
Anyhow, I started shooting with my Hasselblad ELM and they were ecstatic
at the sound of the shutter and motor drive advancing the film. The camera and
I were pronounced "really cool" which, in combination with my shooting fee,
made my day! LOL!!!
CHEERS FROM BARBADOS!

My younger students think "a long time ago" was 8 years ago, when they
took their last high school darkroom class. They wouldn't know what to
do with 1968. I appreciate your impression that it was a few years back.
Thank you.

I found a bundle of old cancelled checks that took me back a few
years. One, written January 27th, 1968, was to a camera shop and was
in the amount of $102.68. This was for my first enlarger and darkroom
equipment including chemicals and paper. The enlarger was a 35mm
Durst. I used it for about 10 years and then lucked into a color head
for it just when I got interested in color printing. It eventually was
replaced by a medium format Omega and then and then and then;-)
