Elias, Sounds about right to a tad on the low side (for me). My normal size print is 16x20; usually have 5-10 tests (3x16) for the various areas; then make a full print using the best info I have from the tests; from there it may take me 5-8 more full sheets to get what I'm looking for. Sometimes after a couple of full sheets I'll realize I need to do more test strips, especially if I've significantly changed the contrast settings; or if I'm printing with different contrast settings for different areas of the print. Hope that helps, Bob Younger -----Original Message----- From: pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of eroustom@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, June 23, 2008 11:24 AM To: pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [pure-silver] Typical Printing Waste Hi all, I'm in the middle of printing an edition (a very small edition) and I'm starting to count my wasted sheets... It may be a silly question, but how many sheets are you (all) typically using (note I refrained from saying "wasting") to get a print to where you want it? I'm sure learning to trust my methods and chemicals has a lot to do with it. Here's how last night went: Two test stips, and five working prints to work out the over exposed detail in contrast to other shadows, burn in tests, and two "finished" prints with different times so I can decide what to do once I see them dry. Any thoughts?
