A friend of mine who was a professional photographer had a machine that
electroplated the silver out. It had some thin metal disks (stainless
steel, I think) that the silver plated on in a tank full of spent fixer. He
would then remove the disks, flex them and the sheets of silver would pop
off. I think he recovered quite a bit of money doing that and selling the
silver.

"what I was told provides’ I have a significant amount of what is known
as “Black Silver” probably the purest form of silver you can get
When ‘dry’ I take it to a friend who has a ‘muffle furnace’ where it
gets melted to provide a blob of silver on coming ‘out’ that is then
sold to a local ‘jewelry repair’ outlet for ‘cash’
MUCH BETTR than pouring it "down the drain”
