Never had a problem with the 1500 series, but I: - make a small champfer to the corners of the film - clean the reels carefully. In fact, I don't, as I also use color processes (Kodak E-6 one-shot kit) that does this very nicely - check the reels and my hands are very dry. If not, I use a hair dryer to dry both. Moisture on gelatin makes it very sticky on plastic. This way, I just have to push the film into the reel without any need for moving the flanges of the reel back and forth.
