This may not be as new as we'd like to think. In the first half of the
60's I worked in the lab of a chain of portrait studios. The darkroom
head honcho was fond of asking new(er) people "what makes a good print?"
The answer - of course :-( - was "one the customer will pay for".
Sad, even then.
