According to one 620 camera site Kodak redesigned some Kodak 120 box cameras so that there was a large dimple in the metal camera frame to narrow the area where the spool fits. Evidantly Kodak was concerned that other film manufacturers were supplying 120 film. They therefore came up with a new format. The 620 spool is just a bit smaller than the 120 spool allthough the film width is the same. In contrast the hawkeye uses a flexible arm on one side to hold the spool. As I said I make no guarantees for cameras other than the Hawkeye. Let me know how things work out. I would like to try this myself as my wife has been after me for several years to respool some 120 for her Brownie Box. I'm too lazy to do this and don't want to pay $10/roll at B&H.
