Hi folks, Thanks for the suggestions. I do have a Parallel laser alignment tool, which should help simply setup. Given the low ceiling height, the enlarger can only be raised 2" or 3" off the floor at most. If I ever build a house, which at the moment doesn't look very likely, it's going to have high ceilings in the basement! (And the rest of the house for that matter.) I never thought of moving the easel. That's something to seriously consider, although I'd miss out on pushing a button and watching the enlarger move itself backward and forward. Originally, I thought these motors were kaput. I asked De-Vere about replacement motors...and nearly fell over when I got the reply. They wanted a couple of thousand dollars more than I paid for the entire enlarger!
