Check the any salt box label before you buy. Some Kosher salt (Morton certainly) contains "yellow prussiate of soda" (sodium ferrocyanide). Only a trace amount to prevent caking but certainly something you *do not* want in your developer. Picking salt is just plain sodium chloride because you want any brine produced to be clear. A few weeks ago I tried a selfmade version of Microdol X and posted the results and the recipe on APUG. I can't compare the stuff with Perceptol or the original Microdol-X (both are not easy to get here), but the stuff worked excellent with APX100 and Delta 400. Maybe you want to try it, it's easily mixed and cheap. The only problem is to get iodide free NaCl (table salt), but I found this at my local pharmacy. Most table salt here has stuff beside iodide in it like silicates to make it run freely. -- Richard Knoppow dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Los Angeles, CA, USA ================================================================================ ============================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there. ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
