Thank you, Asmo! I hope to process some of that from tomorrow and I will let
you guys know how it goes.

Hi Janet,
I have an Ilford data sheet from 1977 in front of me. Their recommended
times
for HP5 and ID-11/D-76 are (at 20 deg C / 68 deg F):
undiluted 7 minutes
1+1 12 minutes
1+3 23 minutes
Hope this helps,
Asmo

Ooh, Thank you! I did assume I would have to add time to development. Glad
you said that. So you believe I can use HP 5+ developing times?

Develop as you would fresh film. There will be some fog but this is
fast film which always has a little fog.>>

Richard, >>Straight development is best,<< By “straight development“, do
you mean stock developer as opposed to 1:1? Thank you both, Robert and
Richard.

between it and HP-5 For ID-11, diluted 1:1 time at 68F is 13
minutes. ID-11 is essentially identical to D-76. The sheet does not
give specific agitation recommendations however it seem to me that
for spiral tanks Ilford recommends 10 seconds once a minute as
opposed to Kodak who recoments four inversions in five seconds once
ever 30 seconds. My experience is that there is little difference.
Straight development is best, any attempt to suppress fog will also
suppress some of the latent image. While there will be some fog you
will probably get printable negatives. Uniform overall fog just
increases printing exposure time.>>>>

Unless they were kept in your car, I would just develop them normally.

I have a handful of rolls of HP5, and at least two of them
were shot 8 or 9 years ago. I hope there’s even anything on
those rolls at all but how should I process them, rather for
how long? Are use D76, 1:1. When I look for developing times
online all I can see information for is HP5+. For the other
roles would I start with the same recommended times as for HP 5+?
Thank you.
