I don't have enough knowledge to build anything yet but I think I
want to use programming for midi and sound synthesis.

Thanks for your answers. I've been a musician all my life. I'm sixty-one
years old so I want to get in to something where I can use the computer to
maybe build something. Please forgive me. I know I sound like the dad in
the other room saying something "I want something real rocky, ... you know?"

The first thing to do is understand how 'music' works in your interest
range. Is this for media playback, simple recording, advanced recording...?
Are you looking to create vst plugs for things like Sonar, Sound Forge, or
Goldwave? I don't have any direct answer, but attempting to narrow things
down for others to help a little more. My line of work is going to be
enterprise apps (crm, scm, accounting/finance...)

Okay. I'd like to learn computer programming as it relates to music.
Thanks.

A newbie at what? Seriously--what is it u want to do? Game dev? Web dev?
robotics? music? operating system programming? I O S? Android?
...?

There's all kinds of programming languages & development platforms out
there, & zillions of things to program. Without knowing what it is you're
thinking about, it's like you asking--what is the best way to get from 1
place to another? If u want real help, you're going to have to be a lot more
specific.

Hi all,

I have try the code, which prints a string into the message dialog.

However, I cannot read this string by both jaws and pc cursor.

I am using eclipse with Jaws 12.

Here is the code:

Thanks in advance

import javax.swing.JOptionPane;

public class Core
{

public static void main(String args[]) {
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, "Welcome\nto\nJava" ); }

}
