Thanks I missed the initial message or mis-read it. Have you tried Windows 
Live! Mail? Maybe you do not need MSWorks installed anymore?

Maybe try something like http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net It even has a 
Languge menu which does not mean speaking but programming and others.

Maybe try OpenOffice for your main docs or even this. I suggest the Go-OO build 
they add more things be default and such.
