Well at least now you're getting faster down that up. Although very slow. You need to check what type of service they have to know for sure. Those getting 200-300 may be on a 512k service, but I don't think cable goes that slow. Have you tried using different browsers? That can make a lot of difference. Perhaps you should have them send someone out. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vern" > Vern, could you let us know how this all works out after Cox > sends > someone out? I went here tonight and this is my listing I think. This is using LINKLINE Speed Dwn/upClaimed ISP & SpeedUser LocationTestDay Hour (EST)Company & Domain 1.8m/1m Cox Communications anon @ Glendale, AZ, USACalifornia, USA14th 03:15 AMCox Communications ph.ph.cox.net It lost the formatting but the numbers are 1.8m down and 1m up. According to their report Phoenix is in a bad area. I was on the 27th page out of a total of 31. With 31 being the worst. On the 31st page are several from Arizona with downloads in the hundreds of kbps. I'm 1800 and they were in the 200 and 300 area. Guess I should be happy. <G> Vern > > Peter Kaulback > > Vern wrote: >> I called Cox today and the man said my speeds are 7 MB down >> and 768 KB >> up. >> >> At Speakeasy tonight 12:44 am I go 1963 KB down and 2292 KB >> up. >> >> The man at Cox said all they could do is send a man out to >> check my >> connection. >> >> >> It looks like I am getting less than 1/3 what I should be >> receiving. >> >> Vern in Phoenix ========================= The list's FAQ's can be seen by sending an email to PCWorks-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with FAQ in the subject line.
