I have Easy Cleaner which is free and has come highly recommended by several
people but when I ran it I had to pretty quickly do a restore (comes with
the program) as it removed something that Norton AntiVirus needed. Then I
purchased Registry Mechanic, also highly recommended, and had to restore the
things I cleaned out the first time I ran it. Very happy that both had a
restore function. Registry Mechanic also does a system restore before
running but I did not need to use that. So---as much as I would like to
clean out that Registry ;-), I am a bit shy about trying it again. I do
swear by CleanUp for cleaning out temp files and other trash but I use an
older version that I know has worked for me for a long time.
