192 MB of RAM means it most likely has at least 2 slots, one with a 128MB
stick and one with 64MB stick. You can upgrade that a bit to improve your
speed. Check you video card to see how much system RAM it needs and then
add at least 256 MB to that number. 512MB would be better. 768 or 1024 MB
will likely be the most for optimum performance and may be limited by the
motherboard or the manufacturer.

There are other factors, besides RAM, CPU and XP that cause it to run slow.
Those include the slow RPM of the hard drive (probably no faster than
4500rpm) and the slow speed of the CD-ROM.

Don't be surprised if DSL is percieved to be as slow as dial up. :-))

The Belkin adapter will communicate with any brand of router that is 802.11g
compatible and possibly with older standards 802.11a/b.

An external keyboard will, of course, limit your portability/mobility, but
if that is not a problem go for it. You can also use an external mouse and
possibly an external monitor as well.

I would at least plan to find the time to clean the keyboard to see if that
fixes the problem. Do not be surprised if it does not.

The various limitations considered, it will likely serve you well for the
purposes you cite. Especially if you got it at a good price.
