When you say hook up to your puter, do you directly hook up to your puter or
through a hub, switch or router?

Make sure he sets WEP (or better yet (WPA) protection on the wireless puter.
Do NOT use the "ad hock" setting.

Hi Bob, I dont know about a hub, switch, or router. I just cut it on and
that is it. It is plugged into my surge protector and into the wall. He
has not connected my neice's yet to mine but is going to soon. What does
WEP and WPA mean. And for that matter "ad hock".

A neighbor told us the other day he was able to see someone's files in the
neighborhood and was asking did anyone in my house have a CD/dvd hook up or
something and wireless system, I dont know what he was talking about but I
assume he meant a wireless computer which I dont.

Thanks,
