Hi Gman, Glanced at the first link you sent. What is the difference doing it his way rather than using "msconfig". I think in the past I have disabled about 2-3 services I can recall using "msconfig" to do it. I know one was one of those messenger things, I forgot another but was told to do it by a tech by phone and it did help the problem I was having, this was a long time ago though. thanks, Do not use "msconfig" to disable services, type "services.msc" in the Run box instead!
