Disk Management is a destructive method for repartitioning already existing partitions & volumes. If there a way to leave most of the drive unpartitioned, you'll be able to later use it to create new ones without hurting the existing OS drive. But if the current install already uses all of the drive, it will have to be destroyed in order to create the additional partitions you need. The free third party app I suggested yeaterday can resize it to make room for additional partitions without destroying the data already present on the main drive. Disk Management cannot do that.
