Hi,

I have an 6 months old External HDD. It was working fine and I could
read and write to it easily from Win XP. Today we had a power failure
when I was booting up the Desktop with the External HDD connected to the
USB port.

After the power came back, I have been unable to access the External
HDD. When I connect it to the USB port, it says check the external HDD
and then I get a message: Windows cannot recognize the USB device,
please replace it. Also, the Red light on the External HDD is
continuously on. Generally when it was working Fine the Green LED used
to glow whereas Red LED used to Glow only when the External HDD was
being accessed.

Any ideas on how to solve the problem. Or is my External HDD gone BAD?

Regards

Mihir
