Hi, Steve-- First thing I'd do would be to disable all extensions...maybe one at a time, to see if that has any effect. A pdf extension was causing me trouble: causing text to disappear as fast as I typed it, sometimes in email subject line(gmail) or on a webpage where I was doing input.
