Greetings G, As I watched the Dell tech moving around my computer it seemed he kept trying to update the Bluetooth drivers over & over. Each time the update appeared to be going along fine but always at the end there was a popup that said the drivers were not compatible with the program. The tech said he wouldn't be getting those popups if there wasn't interference from a corrupted folder. All three Dell tech's just repeated the same procedures. The new Bluetooth card replaced the old & the new keyboard was also left. The regular keyboard & mouse are working, a friend brought a new external hard drive & I am planning on downloading Acronis trial until the software arrives. So I am ready whenever you are. Thank you so much for being willing to get me through this process. The Dell person sounds like he may just be passing the buck, but it's hard to say for sure without knowing exactly what he DID test and how those tests turned out. Norton's tech support also missed a great opportunity to create a "customer for life" for themselves by telling you that you'd have to pay again for something you already paid for (virus prevention/removal). I am assuming you can still boot into the system. As long as that's true, there's lots of hope for getting out of this without a reformat. Let me know how well it runs with the non-wireless input devices and we'll go from there.
