Is that all that it showed? It's not unusual for SOME commands to
be unrecognized, since Windows simply checks a predefined list of
commands. If the modem returns results for SOME commands, then it's
talking to the computer ok.
Did you restart the computer after removing AOL and before
reinstalling?
