Also, Billy, as John points out, u might wanna have your laptop connected via an ethernet cable to the internet--don't count on Ubuntu finding your wireless, although, having said that, it is 1 of the best in terms of getting most hardware up & runnin the 1st time. U might also want to check your manufacturer's website to see if, perchance, they might have Linux drivers for your hardware. It's not common, but, nothin' ventured, nothin' gained. -- Change the world--1 deed at a time Jackie McBride www.abletec.serverheaven.net Please join me Saturday, 11/7, on my walk against breast cancer by making a donation at: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/larkspur> -- -------list-services-below----------- Regards, John Durham (list moderator) <http://modecideas.com/contact.html?sig> Freelists login at //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi List archives at //www.freelists.org/archives/pchelpers PC-HELPERS list subscribe/unsub at http://modecideas.com/discuss.htm?sig Latest news live feeds at http://modecideas.com/indexhomenews.htm?sig Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
