It has always seemed like a bring your own scope star party. If somebody
brings a telescope, the instructors can help them out. I have not been
mentioning the star party component of the event on meetup.com because I
didn't want people to get the wrong idea and show up expecting a line of
telescopes to look through. The PVCC workshop and Bookmans are both focused
on teaching where as the Black Mountain campus event is the real star
party.

Phrasing it this way on meetup.com seemed like a good way to do it.

Come learn how to use your telescope with light in G-147 and then go
outdoors to the telescope dome to use your telescope with the assistance of
the teachers. RSVP is required to be sure there is a telescope teacher
available to assist you.
