Mark, It was just a reminder to the installer. A quick look at the literature and install manuals and you think that you create the disk space and Oracle handles the rest. The archiver expects to write the sequence of archived logs to the same directory. Not sure how you could do anything else but put archived logs on a filesystem. Mark J.
