Certainly having such a switch box comply with fcc regulations on such
devices is way too much to ask.

Chairman Martin says:
1. The FCC is proposing 2012 as the analog switchoff for LPTV stations.
2. The FCC is encouraging DTT full power stations to carry LPTV
programming if they have room in their multiplex.
3. Ditto to MVPDs.
4. Encouraging CE manufacturers to provide analog pass-through in those
coupon program boxes.
On item 4, for those who really do use the Ch3/4 NTSC output from these
STBs, it should be simple enough to create an analog pass-through
function with cheap, stand-alone splitter and coax cable switch box. I
suppose that's way too much to ask from the targeted audience, though.
