- Comments: "Identified first in flight by their "rattle calls" alternating
with "cheer" notes, a call I am very familiar with from my considerable
time birding among this species in Alaska. One bird landed on mudflats
nearby with Horned Larks and I had an excellent scope view of it. It was a
typical juvenile with an overall warm brown color, rufous-edged greater
coverts, and the dark facial frame. Unfortunately, there were no photos
possible because of the distance."

under parts with buffy broken collar, dark primaries with large white wing
patch. Perched low on jetty rocks a couple hundred feet beyond jetty
gate. Flew off to the east. Could not relocate."
