- Comments: "Seen with, diving and surfacing, with a Common Loon; both in
Basic Plumage. Just very slightly smaller than Common Loon at the distance
seen; Pacific Loon's bill not massive, lacking tallness, especially towards
the tip which was very fine and pointed. Head rounded, and not blocky or
flat topped like the Common. Most noticeable was the vertical line of dark
along the sides of its extended neck. From the back of its neck the dark
plumage gradually increased in darkness towards the front of its neck, then
at mid neck, with peak darkness, then a sharp contrast with the white
plumage of the forward portion of the neck. The eye of the Pacific Loon was
within the dark plumage of the head. Through the scope the scalloping of
the back could be seen."

times since this bird was last seen on March 18, this was the first find in
almost 7 months. Found today in one of its favorite trees -- the
eucalyptus on same public trail along riparian strip just west of where the
feeder trail drops down from the corner of Stellar and Saltus Streets
(45.351983, -122.852756)."
