COME. Pics too far for real id, but it seems one has a white chin and sharp
contrasting line on neck between red and white. However, they all seem to
have the exaggerated shaggy crests. Either way, that's a lot of RBME for

- Comments: "There were two loons present. Lighting poor and views were
distant, but they seemed slightly different. Bill of one seemed thinner
than the other. Neck and cheek markings differed as well, with one showing
the jagged mark of a common loon while other did not. Also, I heard the
kronky call, similar to a raven. Pics I sent to Trent weren't good enough
for diagnostic, but I subsequently learned that Dave Trochlell had seen
these two loons earlier in the day. With scope view he was able to compare
and ID as a COMMON and a PACIFIC. Based on his observation of the same two
birds, I am confident to call this a Pacific."
