mantle, black primaries with white "mirrors", a partial sooty-gray hood,
and its bill and legs were dark. The underparts, neck, and forehead were
white. The bird was noticeably smaller than nearby Ring-billed Gulls and
much smaller than nearby California Gulls. Very distant photos."
