- Comments: "I was on the slope to the north of "the top" when I flushed a
medium-sized bird from the ground that I did not see until it flew. I got a
very quick but clear view of the back of the body and wings. It was
short-bodied with long wings that were distinctly pointed. The wingspan was
approximately a foot. I did not note the tail, nor did I note the shape of
the wings: everything happened too quickly. The wings were very patterned
with a rich almost rusty brown that was mixed with darker brown and some
black. The back was similarly patterned, although not quite the same as the
wings. It flew away from me in a northeast downslope direction through a
dense thicket, staying fairly low, . I tried to re-find it but did not have
any success. Although it was a brief view there is no other bird at Tabor
that would have this plumage: both plumage and behavior fit poorwill, as
well as the size. Interestingly, the only other poorwill I have ever seen
at Mt Tabor was flushed from the exact same area in 2010."

Sandpipers) but with similar proportions/body shape. Plumage varied from
pale overall to some with dark breeding plumage (it was difficult to see
rufous color due to poor lighting) on head, neck, and upper breast, and
some in-between. Doing lots of running along pond shoreline, and some
flying back and forth (showing obvious white wing stripe) as the other
peeps tried to keep up and some fell behind."

neck and head. Long decurved bill. White on face. All were foraging on the
ground in the same area, so easy to count."

- Comments: "Reported earlier in the day by April Lauman. We saw them fly
by, but not land, over the field SE of the Long Prairie / 101 intersection
(where the plane is mounted). Large dark birds with paler downturned bills.
They did not vocalize. Not seen well enough to positively rule out other
dark ibises."
