projection. Observed for about 30 seconds. Decently bold eyering.
Medium-smallish dark bill. Heard “whit” call about 5 times shortly after
seeing it, from the direction it flew off to. Call note was slightly off
for a Gray Flycatcher, and it was too olive greenish on the dorsum and not
pale enough on the ventrum. A few species are slightly ahead of schedule
this year it seems."

near the river. It landed in a dead tree and looked around a bit, and took
off just as I got the camera on it. Bird was small, thin beaked, and
entirely bright yellow, slightly greener on the back than below but still
mostly bright yellow, and had faint reddish streaks on the chest. It went
up into the conifers and maples nearby and disappeared. I didn't note any
sounds made by the bird."
