Two of the Sharp-tails I have seen in NW Oregon spent a lot of time in
green, growing vegetation at the edge of the mudflats. Any yellow asters
along Royal Avenue? My experience with our Siberian guests has given those
yellow marsh asters very positive connotations.lpn

Randy, Courtney and I searched unsuccessfully for the Sharp-tailed
Sandpiper at Fern Ridge this morning.  There were a handful of shorebirds
north of Royal Ave including Pectoral, Western & Least Sandpipers, Greater
Yellowlegs, Long-billed Dowitcher and Semipalmated Plover.  Surprising was
an early WHITE-TAILED KITE.
