I was involved in an accident there quite a number of years ago. The
person who hit me was on Chicago and pulled out from behind a bus. Maybe a
stop sign on Phila would have helped, but I am not sure.

Totally agree. When MCC students start coming back in the fall, that
intersection will be even more dangerous as they try to cross Phila from
the bus stop. When I first moved here, we had a city committee on
Philadelphia Ave sponsored by then council member Larry Rubin. Stop sign
was one of our big priorities along with lowering the speed limit which
actually happened within the past year. Maybe in a couple more decades,
they will do something about Chicago & Phila.

Having watched traffic increased in North Takoma over the last five
decades, where a stop sign is sorely needed is at the intersection of
Philadelphia and Chicago. With the bus stops here discharging and picking
up hundreds of MC students from early morning through the evening (in
non-covid era), there is no protection whatsoever from crossing Philly to
the campus and back again.The only traffic control on Philly between Piney
Branch and Fenton is the traffic light at Takoma, Ave, a needless
installation created only by the self interest of a TP council member who
