I was able to reproduce Kirk's problem. I patched Nama to
provide the correct audio format argument when reading wav
files. So please pull and try again.
However there is another, related issue, in how ecasound
gets its defaults.
I seem to recall our policy was to be independent of
configuring Nama via ecasoundrc. However, as we call
ecasound, it loads settings from $HOME/.ecasound/ecasoundrc.
(It is possible to start ecasound with the -R flag to
inhibit reading ecasoundrc.)
Our policy has been to specify ecasound global arguments in
Setup.ecs where necessary.
Our overall intention is to have all parameters that can
change sound of a project stored within that project.
Those are my considerations.
