VENUE NEWS
1. GOOD WEATHER – With weather in the 70’s & the 80’s this week,
most SVP players will be moving to Montague. This does not mean you can’t play
at the Yreka YMCA in the mornings, just means that if you plan to play there,
you might want to invite three other friends to join you.
2. NEW STORAGE UNITS: We have a new storage unit and portable
net at the Montague Courts thanks to John Rudolph. John and Snow have been big
advocate for P-ball in Montague for years and the club would like to thank them
for their recent contributions and their past service. The combo on the new
storage unit is “PLAY”.
3. BELATED THANKS: It has also come to the attention of the club
leadership that Brian & Diane Cowley contributed the permanent nets at the
Montague courts, so we feel an official Thank You is in order. Sorry it is
late, but the club didn’t exist when the donation was made•.
4. DONATE EXTRA PADDLES you are not using to the Club, so we can
make them available (in storage units at both venues) for new people who are
trying out the sport. Those wooden paddles are embarrassing!
5. PLAYTIMESCHEDULER.COM – This is a great tool to find out
where people are playing and organize special matches. If you sign-up at a
user, other people can invite you to special games. Venues such at Montague
City Park, Mount Shasta Resort & the Yreka YMCA are clearly listed on the site.
6. FREE SKILLS & DRILLS 30 MINUTE CLINIC on Thursday from
8:45-9:15AM have been well attended and will most likely be held at the
Montague courts. Clinic people should only use two courts and will try to end
as close to 9:15 AM as possible. For planning, sign in on
www.playtimescheduler.com<http://www.playtimescheduler.com> if you plan to be
there, otherwise the clinic might be canceled, if not enough people are
planning to attend.
UPCOMING EVENT
1. APRIL 29TH SCRAMBLE and/or casual CLINIC at the Y, is possible, but not
guaranteed. The SVPC leadership is meeting on Tuesday April 18th, and will need
to make a final decision on whether to offer a Scramble and/or Clinic or
nothing by April 18th, so please let Pete know ASAP, if you would like attend a
Scramble ($10 or $20 if you want to get a club membership at the same time)
and/ or Free Clinic ( 30 minute, from 8:15-45 AM) if offered.
