Shasta Valley Pickleball News

1.                *NEW VERY NICE NETS COMING SOON.* Scott, the director
the Yreka YMCA has graciously decided to buy two very nice new nets called
the SwiftNet 2.1
https://pickleballcentral.com/nets/portable-pickleball-nets/ for the
growing pickleball community, that should be here by next week. Make sure
to say thank you to Scott at scott@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for this generous
response to our request.

2.                *PUT OUR EQUIPMENT AWAY!* He made one simple request.
That we put all the nets up every time we use them. I understand what he is
talking about. I have come several times recently (including this morning),
to notice people did not put their net up last time they played. Remember,
with the better weather coming we never really know who is going to be
playing p-ball next in the gym. Let’s take an extra effort to organize &
put away all nets, balls and anything else that is appropriate.

3.                *NEW NET TRAINING. *Myself(Pete), Ted, Jerry, Jim,
Aaron, Ken and anyone else that wants, will be training everyone else to
use the new nets properly. These nets cost 3 times more than the other
nets, so let’s make an effort to set them up properly, use them carefully,
and make them last as long as possible.

4.                *NEW PEOPLE* – I have noticed new people here almost
every time I have played in the last couple of weeks. Let’s all work hard
to make them feel welcome and informed.

5.                *NO PICKLEBALL AT THE YREKA YMCA THIS COMING SATURDAY*
because we have a scramble, which is currently full. But you could still be
on the waitlist. We just graduated 2 people off the waitlist to the player
list recently. There is currently no one on the waitlist.

*6.                **SCRAMBLE PARTICIPANTS*

   1. Please let us know ASAP if for some reason you cannot be a player
on Saturday. Ted is the director and can be reached at
ted.tsudama@xxxxxxxxx, and you can email me at pete@xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

   1. Pay attention to your email for more info to come soon (probably on
Wednesday or Thursday), that will specifically address Scramble details.

7.                *SKILLS & DRILLS MINI CLINICS* on Thursday from
8:45-9:15 have been well attended and will most likely be held at the Y for
the rest of March, but we may be moving outside to the Montague courts
sometime in April, depending on the weather. Sign in on
www.playtimescheduler.com if you can.

Happy Pickling,

Pete
