In windows explorer click on your C: drive. Choose the Organize tab at the 
top, choose Folder and search options, click View then Show hidden files. 
Click on apply to all folders and you are done.

Thanks. 

Appeared to have already been done (normal for me since I usually want to
see everything and want the OS to quit protecting me from myself (so much) 

But reapplied it just to be sure.
