OK, James ... since you say it's a problem regarding Outlook, I'll let it
slide (though I still consider it a Windows problem)
To add to what you are trying ... I've never even seen Windows 7, so I don't
know where you would find this ... but in XP and Vista, there are two sets
of files that you usually have to unhide ... "hidden", which you've
obviously already addressed ... and "system files", which is what dll files
are, so see if you can find where to show system files.

In windows explorer click on your C: drive. Choose the Organize tab at the
top, choose Folder and search options, click View then Show hidden files.
Click on apply to all folders and you are done.
