Don't waste your time looking, Linda...it WORKS just fine...as long as
you know that they moved the template dir. Folks go to c:\microsoft
office\templates and when it doesn't work they assume it doesn't work.

But they SHOULD be going to c:\windows (or Documents and
Settings...depending on the version)...then user name\application
data\microsoft\templates.

So they add a folder there and it still doesn't work and they SWEAR it
doesn't work.

But then, you have to PUT SOMETHING IN IT to make it appear. If there's
nothing in the folder, the tab isn't necessary so it doesn't appear.
Toss in a template and you're rockin'. As I said, I have a pile of tabs
in all my versions to keep all my autoform templates sorted.

Hi PJM....I've heard the old method of just making a subfolder in your
templates folder does NOT add a tab in 2002...I'm assuming that's what
you mean when you say the "old way"?

I *thought* I'd seen a workaround for this somewhere...but I will be
danged if I can find it now...but I will keep looking (and hoping maybe
someone else in here saved it and comes forth...LOL)

Subject: [mso] Word 2002 - Creating A New Template Tab

Does anyone know how to create a new template tab for company-specific
templates in Word 2002? In addition to the standard tabs (General,
Legal
Pleadings, Letters and Faxes, Mail Merge, etc.) I would like to have a
tab
that contains my custom templates.

The method I once used doesn't work in Word 2002.

Thanks,
PJM
