The index and TOC will still come out correctly IF you code the RD fields in
the right chapter order, as explained in the article.

Ok, instead of four separate volumes (each volume a file), if I make this 30
chapters, each chapter its own document with sub-chapter and sections, can I
effectively make an index of everyone? I.e., ANDERSON

At this point, I am not sure such an index will include everyone in all the
separate chapter files. Last I counted, I have 3,791 individuals, and the
married females are listed twice, once under their maiden name, and again
under their married name. This means if a female marries seven times, she
will be listed under her maiden name, and again each of her seven married
names. I worked hard to make sure the index behaves like that. Will
splitting it up hurt that?
