Hi Glenda....are you saying Ray's merge field syntax didn't work for you? I
tried it here and it worked for me, so I'm really beginning to think there
is definitely something strange in that data source file that you are not
seeing or that is preventing you from reading the source data AFTER the
merge is complete. Did you try this on a sample file you created that does
NOT use that unavailable data source? Why don't you do that...that way you
can see if this works for you AT ALL...if it does, then you know the problem
is with your source data...and if that's the case, then VBA probably won't
work either.
Here's his code again...obviously adjust it to use the field names you are
using:
{nextif{MERGEFIELD "Address"} <> "*@*"}{MERGEFIELD "Name"} ---
{MERGERFIELD "Address"}

I'm pretty sure not Kathie. I just looked at the list of compare
operators and discovered Like and Not Like are not on the list. I'm
suspecting that's the problem. I'm wondering now if I could make my
selection using VBA. Surely Like and Not Like can be used there. /g
