You apparently misunderstood...remember I said you CAN NOT make VBA apps stand alone! You must have the VB environment software for that! You CAN however, write an app...say in Word...that can use Access as a backend DB and the users won't need Access on their systems cos' you can use the JET runtime DLLs so the DB will run without having to have Access on the system. I believe that's what someone else mentioned previously. But that did not mean that you can create a stand alone! But just because you can run a DB without having to have Access on a system...you STILL need a HOST program to run the VBA code. That can be Word, Excel, Access, PPT or any Office app...or app that runs VBA. However, the ONLY way you can create/send out a fully separate EXE program is to have VB. VB will allow you to "compile" the code into a self-running EXE program. VBA MUST have a host program that will "compile" the code at runtime...since VBA cannot be compiled prior to the first time it runs! Dian D. Although I doubt it???? <End> I don't -think- there was a conflict between Windows XP, Office XP, and the CD Carousels (3), but after I installed Office XP Developer, I reloaded the Carousel software and everything seemed 'normal' again. I am guessing that one of the three wanted/expected a file what was older than the newest one. Ok, now that I have Developer installed, if I write a two column database, can someone teach me how to make it 'stand-alone'? This was my reason for this investment. Thank you.
